Should I write this?

Okay, before I go into what I am debating writing, let me apologize for my blog being all in a funk for a while until blogger fixes the template changes. I got this cool thing last night that lets you track your blog and see who's reading it and your visitors. I figure hey, I dispaly this for all the world to have access to so I'd like to know exactly who is reading what and when. Well, again technology is not my friend and I got rid of the stupid program because I can't figure out how to install it!

Now to what I hate to admit about yesterday. Jake and I started our day together with school, learning the letter A. Then, I took Jake with me to buy soccer shoes, socks, and a ball for Bradley. I figured since I was buying all this for Bradley, I would get Jake a little buzz lightyear while at Target. After Target we went to the pet store and just looked around. Then we came home and played and did our usual stuff. At three o'clock, we got in the car and went to wait in line to pick up Bradley. While in line, I told Jake I had fun with him today and asked him if he had good time. He said no. To my shock I asked him why and his reply was, "Because I don't wike you momma."

WHAT!!!! I thought this would come out of their mouth maybe in high school, but not when they are 4! I calmed down before responding and asked why again. He said, "because I don't." So, I tried another approach. "Well Jake, what would make you like me?" His answer, "well if you bought me a bunch of toys, or a small pet, then I would wike you."
I'm sitting there thinking. Who get's you dressed every day, who teaches you school, who cooks your dinner, who brushes your teeth, who bathes you, who plays with you, who puts you to bed, who takes you to play with friends, who wipes your poopy bottom (sorry for the grotesque image but that's what went through my head).

I told Jake that he was not old enough to make that desicion of whether or not he liked his mother and that it hurt my feelings. I told him he had to like his mother. I know where all this was coming from. Randy has been working 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. M-W, 5:30a.m. to 11:00 p.m. R, 5:30 to 12:30 a.m. Friday, and 7:00a to 5:00p Sat. So, I know that his not wiking me was really his way of trying to express that he misses his dad and has spent a little too much time with his mother lately. Right?! I still love him, but give me a break. Maybe one day he'll realize all I've done for him. Oh, and by the way mom--- a BIG thank you for all you did for me growing up! I love you!

SONIC...YOUR ULTIMATE DRINK STOP! What am I looking at you might ask? This my friends is a picture of 56 coupons for 99 cent, 32 ounce soft drinks. I had been disapointed since moving to Greenville at the cost of a large drink here. It is $1.71. The highest of any town I have ever been in. And for someone who goes to Sonic for a large diet coke just about every day, that's a lot of money. Anyway, with the support of my mother being in the car today with me, I asked to speak with the manager. He came out and I asked him why a bag of their ice cost the same price as a large drink. I mean the ice is what makes their drinks so special and your telling me that for the ten cents of syrup and the cup it cost the same as a bag of ice for you to make a profit? I don't think so! I was also unhappy with this being the first Sonic I have visited to not have a happy hour! I told the manager I was being so hard on him because in my opinion Sonic sets the standards for all of the surrounding fast food places when it comes to drink prices. I mean they are the Ultimate drink stop right?! So, this may be a quick fix for the manager to hand me 56 coupons. Does it help the rest of America who still has to pay $1.71 for a large drink? No. Does it save me $35.84? Yes, and that my friends makes me a very happy person today!!

Jake's Journey to Jupiter

Well, Jake loves school! Of course he has plenty of his own ideas of what we should do and I have to remind him that I am the teacher. Our current unit is studying the solar system and he is learning he letter J this week. FYI- As of today (after being sure to teach my child the names of the largest and smallest planets this week) Pluto is no longer considered a planet. What is that all about? I'll explain that to Jake later. As for purposes of not thuroughly confusing him, Pluto is still a planet in our house this week!!
Yesterday we got to join a group of 6 other moms and went to the children's museum in Commerce. This was a neat place. They even had a space center. Jake loved playing here and the other kids were all nice and very well behaved. I am going to love this group of moms!!! I haven't had a group of mom's to hang out with for years. In Atlanta there were two other stay at home moms from church and I had one good friend in Texarkana. So, this group is a blessing.
I should have put a picture of my sweet new ride on the blog for everyone. While my car is being fixed, I asked enterprise for a compact car to drive. Since when is a mini van a compact car??? I was a little scared to go from my Monte Carlo to a Ford Freestar, but it's easier to drive than I thought. I actually kind of like it and so do the boys. I was playing Nicole Nordiman's accoustic songs last night in the car and Bradley said, "I like this car. It's so much more peaceful than our other one." I didn't tell him that it was the music making it so peaceful :)

Jake next to his rocket he made with molding clay and painted all by himself.

At the grocery station playing with the girls. I had to remind Jake that this wasn't Super Market Sweep!

This cool thing let you pull the string down and it made a giant bubble around you.

Jake at Nasa Control blasting off the rockets. He didn't get the counting backwards part. It was 1,2,3,4,5 blastoff!

You think it would be easier by second grade to send your child to school on the first day without crying. It's not. Bradley is getting so much more independent. He still wanted me to walk him in, but I had to keep my distance. No hugs or holding hands in front of friends. I did manage to get a hug in the hallway before he went into the room. I also couldn't boo hoo in the car because Jake was with me and I didn't want to give him a complex next year when he goes to Kindergarten and has flashbacks of his mom's reaction to dropping big brother off. Bradley had a good day. He was a little tired after a long day, but he made two new friends and he likes his teacher. Coming Soon to a Blog Near You...... JAKE'S JOURNEY TO JUPITER! (Jake will begin Pre-K tomorrow at home.)

I didn't want to embarrass Bradley by taking pictures of him in the classroom, so I thought I would snap a quick one of the big guy walking in.

Dear dad, I have a confession. First of all it was all mom's fault. When we made our evening coke run, she took me over to that new house they are building that is weird and long. We wanted a closer look at the back of it, but since it was under construction, there was no driveway yet. Well, I assumed that when I told mom to just drive through the dirt, that she knew how to drive your truck. She didn't. Actually she found the one patch of mud that was out there and got your tire stuck. I wouldn't have felt so bad, but you had just taken your truck five hours earlier to the really nice car wash with Jake. Don't worry, I got out in the driveway at 10:45 that night after you went to bed and washed it for you, so you didn't go to work Monday with a dirty truck. And everything is just fine with it. I promise and I love you :) !!! LauraPosted by Picasa

Chocolate Mush Anyone? Well, this is how the second half of my day went. We went to Grapevine Friday for one last getaway before school starts on the 21st. We were on our way home from my moms and made it to Mesquite when some idiot in the lane next to us had a barrell fly out the back of his truck (which had no tailgate). Well I moved over a lane to avoid getting hit, but this guy thought he needed to get all the way over, so without minding me being there he hit us. I'm screeming the whole time, Bradley's crying asking if we were dying and the idiot is pushing us closer to the concrete barrier. Needless to say we were all very shook up. It was very scary. God was taking care of us though and everyone was safe and somehow there was very minimal damage done to the car (don't ask me how that happened). The worst part of it was that the chocolate cake went flying and got smashed when I slammed on the brakes. I'm sure we'll still eat it mom. Thanks for all the yummy food you sent home with us!!! The following pictures are from our time at my mom and dad's house. Posted by Picasa

BTW... Thanks to my dear friend Marsha, I no longer have my sticky problem! Let me see how do I say this? Mille fois merci!

Could I Be Any Smarter?

For those of you who know me, you know how much I love Bath and Body Works. Well, since we are on a tight budget until our other house in Atlanta sells, and my supply of lotion has dwindled to nothing, I decided to venture to the lotion isles of Wal-Mart.
I was actually impressed and overwheled with the selection Wal-Mart had to offer. After careful consideration, I decided on the Healing Garden White Tea flavor. I came home and tried out my new lotion and noticed it was very sticky feeling and shiny. I was not impressed. I sulked for awhile and had a short pitty party, then told my self to suck it up, that's life and things could be much worse.
Well, I put the lotion on again today and it was still sticky and gross. Frusterated, I asked myself "What is in this stupid stuff. After looking the bottle up and down I noticed I had bought the body wash with lotion in it!
Even if my skin isn't any more moisturized, I guess I will at least smell good in the shower.

Bradley's New "Do" We have to have a family picture made Friday for the football program so Bradley had to get a hair cut. He told the lady he wanted a spikey cut, so here he is. The handsomest little boy I ever saw!!! Posted by Picasa

This is something my friend Jaime asked for to do with her baby daughter. It's fun and my kids always laughed a lot whenever I did it to them. Point to each part of their face when you say it Head knocker (forhead), Eye winker, Nose bumper, Mouth eater, Chin chopper, Giddy, giddy, giddy (tickle their neck here). Enjoy! Posted by Picasa

A Child's Stress...

Due to this great developing world of technology, I have now accumulated over 600 pictures on my digital camera. The point being, I have made numerous trips to Wal-Mart to the one hour developing station over the last two days. Now being this person who loves technology so much, JK (that's for you Chelsea) my children hardley ever get to go play the video games that are set up. However, since they are located next to the picture center in the Greenville Wal-Mart, my kids have played them a lot lately. As we were leaving Wal-Mart Saturday Bradley began telling me about his video game playing experience.

"I can't believe how much taller I am mom."
"Oh, why?"
"Used to when I would try to play games I could barely reach the controller. Now I can actually see it and the T.V. and play the games. Man, it just used to be so stressful."

I wish this was the same extent of my daily stresses!!! So, when things seem beyond my reach, the lesson taken is this...
Instead of just barely holding on the the controller, I should grow up a little and let You know Who take care of it!

LIKE MOTHER LIKE SON! Does this picture remind anyone of a little girl who used to have quite a horny toad collection every time she went to her Grandma and Grandpa's? That's a lizzard in Jakes hand. He wasn't too happy with me when I said he couldn't keep it. Of course I don't know if the poor creature was able to walk away after Jake squeezed him that tightly! (Notice the tail has been ripped off as well) Posted by Picasa

Sad day at the Scott's. We are having to take down the pool. This is the picture of the pool draining. It was just too off level here. We will have to wait until next summer to put it up when Randy has time to make a nice platform for it again. It's a shame becuase it's so hot outside and swimming wears the boys out for me really well. They go to bed really easily after a day of being in the pool. Bye pool, we'll see you next year!  Posted by Picasa

Here's the picture of Bradley! I'm so excited, it only took me four hours to figure out how to send more pictures!!!!! The blog has a new look because I totally erased my first blog account and made a new one with the same address. So, I hope you enjoy it. (Actually you better enjoy this because I've worked HARD on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Posted by Picasa

Here is one of two pictures I'm trying to send. The boys and I were invited to go swimming today with some moms from the church we visited Sunday. We swam for three hours. Needless to say, two sips of milkshake and five minutes on the road and Jake was passed out. We cam home and we were able to wake him at 7:00 so he could eat dinner and then he went to bed for the night at 7:45. He was one tired kiddo!
I really hate blogging. I have been on here two and a half hours and can't figure out how to send a new posting!!!!! I'm very frusterated if anyone wants to send me some tips please do so. My blog site may last all of two days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
